This unique rite-of-passage course is offered to youth in the winter and spring of eighth grade. Adult mentors are chosen to work closely with our youth as they explore their spirituality, think deeply about their place in the world, discuss their dreams for a better society, and hone their aspirations to challenge the injustices of our time. During the six months of Coming of Age, they write poems, listen to music, walk a labyrinth, create art, bond with their peers and mentors, and write a personal credo statement, which will be shared during a Sunday morning worship service.
Like OWL, this class meets on Sunday evenings, and a fee is charged for participation. We ask that youth register for this program and that families are committed to having their youth attend class on a weekly basis.
Class is from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
